Tasmanian-born photographer Justin Cooper is a global nomad renowned for his captivating and alluring beauty images.

He has based in Sydney, Paris, and Shanghai and his work transcends various industries, from fashion to advertising and personal projects. His ability to establish a powerful connection between his camera and subjects is the hallmark of his style. As he explains, “I prefer the sitter to be passive to the camera or caught in its gaze,” employing the face as a canvas for narration.

Justin Cooper is fascinated by both the historical techniques of photography and bleeding-edge technology, which he artfully emulsifies to create contemporary beauty imagery.  After studying art and commercial photography at Melbourne’s RMIT University and the College of Fine Art, Sydney, Cooper has worked with prestigious beauty brands and fashion publications globally, making him a prominent figure in the image making world.

His editorial work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, and Glamour. Cooper has also created advertising campaigns for major beauty companies such as Clarins, L’Oreal, Biotherm, LVMH, Revlon, and Procter & Gamble.

His photographic oeuvre celebrates the beauty of his subjects, capturing their essence through the lens with a poetic touch.
